In exercise of the powers conferred under section 64(3) and other related provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission has passed an order on 20.03.2008 in Case No.62/2007 with regard to determination of ARR and Transmission Tariff of Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) effective from 01.04.2008.

      Pursuant to Regulation 57 of the OERC (Conduct of Business) Regulations, 2004 the OPTCL, hereby publishes the revised tariff schedule for transmission.

Transmission Tariff The total charges shall be calculated by summation of the following charges mentioned in Para (A) to (C) below as applicable.

1. (A) Transmission Charges Transmission Charge @ 21P/U shall be applicable for transmission of power at 220 KV/ 132KV over OPTCL’s EHT transmission lines and sub-stations and payable by the DISTCOs and CGPs. It will also be applicable for the purpose of transmission of energy from a CGP to its industries located at separate place(s) within the State. Long-term Open Access customers availing Open Access under relevant Regulations of OERC shall pay Rs.5040/MW/Day towards transmission charges. Short-term Open Access customers shall pay Rs.1260/MW/day.
   
   (B) Rebate: For payment of bills through a letter of credit on presentation or upfront by cash within two working days, a rebate of 2% shall be allowed. If the payments are made by a mode other than through a letter of credit but within a period of one month of presentation of bills, by the Distribution Licensee, a rebate of 1% shall be allowed.
   
   (C) Late Payment Surcharge: In case payment of bills by the licensees is delayed beyond a period of 1 month from the date of billing, a late payment surcharge at the rate of 1.25% per month shall be levied by OPTCL.


2. Transmission Loss: Out of the energy supplied to the Transmission Licensee, 4.5% shall be deducted towards transmission loss and balance is liable to be delivered at delivery point at 220/132KV.


3. The Transmission Tariff and Open Access Charges in respect of OPTCL shall be effective from 01.04.2008 and shall continue till further order of the Commission.
