Consequent
upon the reform and restructuring of the power sector
of Orissa, the Grid Corporation of Orissa was notified
to act as an STU (State Transmission Utility) vide Department
of Energy, Govt of Orissa notification No 1674 dated
4-2-1999. SLDC under section 31of the present Electricity
Act 2003 is run by the STU. i.e GRIDCO and has been engaged
in activities of the real time operation of the power
system in the state of Orissa. However, GRIDCO has
been bifurcated to two separate Organisation i.e.
OPTCL (Orissa power Transmission Cooperation Limited)
and GRIDCO vide Department of Energy, Govt of Orissa
notification No 6892 dated 09.06.2005 and OPTCL has
been declared as STU. Now SLDC comes under STU, i.e.
OPTCL and has been engaged in activities of the real
time operation of the power system in the state of
Orissa. |
