NATURE OF WORK

The Civil Wing of OPTCL is responsible for planning, execution, operation, and maintenance of civil infrastructure assets required for reliable power transmission operations across the state. The scope of work broadly covers capital construction works as well as repair and maintenance activities, ensuring safety, functionality, and longevity of all civil assets.

Capital Works
Capital works include creation and augmentation of civil infrastructure to support OPTCL’s expanding operational requirements. These works primarily comprise:
 
  • Construction of multi-storied office complexes and administrative buildings
  • Development of boundary walls for substations, offices, and operational premises
  • Construction of concrete approach roads for substations and facilities
  • Construction of store buildings for material storage and logistics
  • Development of open stock yards for safe stacking of transmission materials
  • Construction of other ancillary structures necessary for operational support
 
Repair & Maintenance Works
Repair and maintenance works focus on upkeep, restoration, and smooth functioning of existing civil assets. These activities include:
 
  • Control room repairs to ensure safe and uninterrupted operations
  • Staff quarter repairs and residential maintenance
  • Repair and upkeep of office complexes
  • Maintenance of water supply and sewerage systems
  • Execution of other minor civil repairs as required from time to time

Through systematic execution of capital and maintenance works, the Civil Wing plays a critical role in sustaining OPTCL’s infrastructure, supporting uninterrupted power transmission, and maintaining safe and efficient working environments across all installations.
